In a move that will be received with open arms by online marketers, Twitter have released an option to schedule tweets in advance via a campaign manager, whether for organic tweets or promoted tweets.
This service is available for those who use Twitter’s Ad Products, rather than every day Twitter users (as ’interesting’ as advance scheduling inane daily updates may have been…). On this new feature Twitter commented:
“All marketers using Twitter’s Ad Products can schedule organic or Promoted Tweets for specific dates and times up to a year in advance.
“These can be co-ordinated to go live with new or existing Promoted Tweet campaigns to enable you to plan your real-time campaigns at your convenience.”
This scheduling tool can be found at the ads.twitter.com URL used by advertising accounts. In the navigation bar the new ‘Creative’ tab is positioned between the Campaigns and Analytics tabs on the top right of the screen. Tweets can be scheduled minute-by-minute in real time, up to a year in advance.
Currently online advertisers utilise third party dashboards in order to plan tweets in advance, this new tool within Twitter itself will eradicate that need to operate from one platform to another. It’s expected that this new feature will be received positively within the social media marketing community.
